Scott Smith - Chicago, IL

President & Treasurer

Shannon’s husband of two years and foundation President. Shannon and I met and lived together in Madison for five years. We loved everything the city had to offer and were looking forward to raising a family there. I will forever be grateful for the memories we made together. I currently reside in Chicago but Madison will always be our home. While we cannot replace what was taken, through this foundation, we can ensure that Shannon still has an impact in the Madison & Wausau communities.

Karen Porter - Wausau, WI

Vice President

I am so proud to say I am Shannon’s mother and Louis’ grandmother. Shannon lived every day with purpose, and turned the challenges of adversity into strengths. Her strong work ethic was shown throughout her life in academics, sports, career and in her relationships with family and friends. She strove to be the best that she could be, and expected and encouraged the same from others.

Friend of Shannon & Secretary

Shannon and I met as UW nursing students and quickly became inseparable friends. To know Shannon was to realize the beauty in yourself and this life we traverse. I am eternally grateful for the best she saw in me, and the worldwide adventures and memories we shared.

Friend of Shannon & Creative Director

I first met Shannon in high school and almost instantly became the best of friends. Shannon’s impact on my life and those around her is one of the most significant things I’ve experienced. She loved with her whole being, had a smile to light up any room and I’m forever grateful for the time we shared.
